St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish
"Growing Together in Faith"
Last week I had the opportunity to attend Morning Prayer and Mass.
After Mass, three different people approached me and asked me if I was
the new Pastoral Minister. I said “yes”, we exchanged greetings and then
talked about the work they did at St. Stan’s.  As I left, I thought “Wow,
what a welcoming parish this is.”

My name is Dwaine Habrat and I am the new Pastoral Minister.  I was born
and raised in Milwaukee, attended UW-Whitewater earning a degree in
Business Administration and then worked in several states.  Eventually, I
returned to Wisconsin and worked in industrial sales for twenty years.  My
family moved to Stevens Point in 1998 when I began working for a non-
profit organization.  Previous to joining St. Stanislaus, I was Director of
Pastoral Ministries and Liturgy at St. Bronislava Parish in Plover.

I am married to Susan who is a critical care nurse at Aspirus Wausau
Hospital.  We have one son Michael who is a graduate of UW-SP and
Mississippi State University.  He lives and works in Minnesota.

My service to the Church began in the 1980’s in Menasha.  Currently I am
finishing my final year of preparation (a seven year process) towards
ordination, God willing, to the Permanent Diaconate in October 2010.  I
also serve as a chaplain at Aspirus Wausau Hospital as well as St.
Michael’s Hospital.
