6.      Committee Reports:

a.       Catholic Education: Kathy Sowa, no report at this time

b.      Family Life: Gary Tanko

·         Mass in the Park 2009 has been cancelled this year. Some contributing factors are St. Stanislaus hosting Vacation Bible Camp this year which will limit facility space here at parish and render Kostka Hall unavailable in case of rain. Possibility of moving the event to Pacelli in the case of rain was investigated and logistics of this were found to be very difficult. Mass in the Park 2010 will take place on June 6, 2010 at Iverson Park as in the past.

·         Easter Vigil reception was very successful this year. Attendance was higher than in years past. Committee was pleasantly surprised at outcome as they had anticipated a possible decline in attendance due to the Vigil mass starting later in the evening this year.

c.       Justice & Peace: Gene Van Ryzin

·         St. Stan’s Justice & Peace Committee is hosting a Joint Justice & Peace meeting for all area committees on Tuesday, May 19th in Kostka Hall. The joint meeting was suggested to discuss how to best coordinate the efforts of all the local committees in meeting community needs.

·         J&P annual Personal Care Shower to be held the weekends of May 17th and 24th here at St. Stan’s.

d.      Sacred Worship: Mary Ann Powell

·         Committee discussing policy on pre-mass announcements as they need to be streamlined.

·         Server’s performance looks better over past month.

·         Committee will be holding meetings on Thursdays instead of Mondays now.

7.      Finance Council Report: Shirley Berger

·         John Clifford gave Financial PowerPoint presentation at all masses weekend of May 2-3. Council was very pleased with presentation and information passed along to parishioners.

·         Bill Boston discussed new Memorial pamphlets to be utilized by parish and area funeral homes in funeral planning process.

·         Council will be discussing philosophy of fund raising at next meeting to better identify for parish a policy on this topic.

8.      SPACS Report: Shirley Berger

·         Enrollment for the 2009-2010 school year is 89 students down from registration records at this time last year.

·         Strategic Planning Committee is utilizing information obtained from the various parish meetings this past year to assess what kinds of changes can be made. This will remain an ongoing project.

·         A new Coaches Handbook has been put together to address some of the issues that have come up recently related to our leaders in the area of athletics.

·         There were 13-15 applicants identified for the position of principal at Pacelli. This list has been narrowed down to 5 candidates who will start interviewing the week of June 1st.

·         Dress code being reviewed and revised to focus on modesty and appropriate dress.

9.      Deanery Report: Bob Rogers

·         Committee from St. Stan’s working on project related to inviting those who have been hurt/wounded by the church to talk about these issues. This program is in the formative stages and meeting scheduled for tomorrow, May 13th, to meet with Fr. Marty Pable to discuss. ·         There will be recognition of all graduates this weekend at masses.

·         Ascension Thursday will be observed the weekend of May 23-24 in the La Crosse diocese.

·         Dave reported that a training DVD for servers is being discussed and in formative stages. SPACS has a video camera that they will lend the parish and Pacelli students in an Audio Visual class have agreed to shoot the video. This project comes after discussion on the need for ongoing training for our servers. Dave did contact the diocese related to privacy issues with any of the children participating with the shooting of the video. The diocese has provided permission forms for these children and will be distributed to parents prior to starting this project.

·         Dave reported that Mary Owens will stay on as webmaster at this time as she has expressed a desire to continue with this duty.

11.  Council Chair Announcements: Bob Rogers, none

12.  Unfinished Business: Gary Tanko

·         Pancake Breakfast update: Gary did extensive research on this topic, talking to a number of different individuals on the topic. It was his conclusion that the logistics of a pancake breakfast at St. Stan’s are not possible. The kitchen in Kostka Hall is not set up for producing the amount of food that is needed to successfully serve the number of people who would be in attendance. There is also question as to how the event would be presented to the parishioners; a fund raiser or a social? Council in agreement that this topic will be tabled until further direction obtained from the Finance Council related to the parish philosophy of fund raising.
