UPDATE

Justice and Peace

·         Monthly food collections continue with success

·         A dinner will be served at Salvation Army Dec. 15

·         HIV/AIDS Program donations continue

·         Parish alerted to needs of the Baral family as they await heart transplant for baby Noah

·         Christmas dinner plans are proceeding smoothly

SPACS

·         Commission reports that Panacea profit for 2009 was $12,000 above last year’s profit.  Also, SPACS has hired a Learning Resources Instructor to assist students needing additional help in the classroom.

·         Several visitors present at SPACS meeting expressed concern related to Pacelli High School dropping certain classes from current curriculum. Pacelli has dropped classes due to budget issues, low enrollment in those particular classes and curriculum requirements. A letter was sent to all SPACS parents explaining in detail the decision to drop these classes from the current curriculum.

 

Deanery

·         Information about the Diocesan Pastoral Plan was presented in Parish Newsletter

·         This year the Deanery Pastoral Council will focus on marriage and the family

Catholic Education

·         Council thanked Kathy Sowa for making the St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish display board that was displayed at the All Saint’s Gala this fall

·         Council commended the Catholic Education Committee on the success of having St. Nick visit each of the weekend Masses in honor of his feast day.

Sacred Worship

·         Fr. George noted that the response to Morning Prayer offered on daily basis during Advent was very good.  The committee may recommend offering the same kind of opportunity during the season of Lent.

Staff Recruitment

·         Parish is fully staff with the recent addition of our Pastoral Minister, Dwaine Habrat.

·         Fr. George thanked the Staff Recruitment Ad Hoc Committee and decommissioned them since their work was finished

Fr. George

·         Has begun taking online classes through Capella University to obtain a degree in counseling.

·         Fr. George’s Provincial in India has given permission for him to stay in the United States beyond his Visa expiration date.  Fr. George application for a green card is in progress.

Needs Assessment

·         Pastoral Minister Dwaine Habrat and Council Chair Bob Rogers will discuss developing a pastoral needs assessment for the Parish in the near future.
