Minutes
of Pastoral Council Meeting August 26, 2007 were approved as distributed.
5.
Dave
Fletcher gave a short presentation on upcoming Ministry Fair. Renewal 2007
forms and brochure reviewed and no changes recommended by Council. There have
been seven responses from various committees so far who will have booths
representing their ministries. Discussion regarding having committee
representation be mandatory.
6.
Bill
Boylan gave presentation regarding Faith Alive Program. Bill has received
minimal response from registration forms included with bulletin a few weeks
ago. He stresses that these groups will need to be initiated by personal
invitation amongst parishioners. Bill also stated that he will not be able to
take on the role of coordinating the Faith Alive program for St. Stans at this
time due to his obligations within the deaconate program. Mary Ann Powell also
attended the initial meetings put on by the Diocese related to this program.
She has a few other contacts within the parish that she will pursue to assist
with coordination efforts.
7.
Bob
Rogers welcomed new Council member Lee Falkavage. Lee will be replacing Mark
Molski who resigned his position on the Council this fall.
8.
Spiritual
Development- “Reclaim the Fire” presentation by Bob Rogers. All Council members
received a copy of this book written by Fr. Marty Pable.

Unfinished
Business –
v
Improve
Communication between Finance and Pastoral Councils: Gene La Rose reported as
liaison from Finance Council that they do not have flexibility with their
current meeting schedule due to timing of monthly financial reports. Suggestion
that Pastoral Council change their meetings to a different week to allow for
better communication of information between Councils. Bob Rogers noted that the
Pastoral Council By-Laws would need to be changed if Council decided to move
meetings to a new time of the month. Council will revisit this topic after
further consideration.
v
Parish
Stewardship Program: Subcommittee formed to address coordination of Ministry
Fair booth representing Pastoral Council. Discussion regarding having a table
with pictures of Council members goals, of the Council for upcoming year and
description of responsibilities of the Council. Suggestion made that all booth
participants wear name tags and suggestion box be available for parishioner
comments, questions or concerns. Subcommittee: Gene LaRose, Bob Rogers and Mary
Ann Powell.
v
Parish
Goals 2007-2008. Bob Rogers suggested
goals be developed around the theme of Evangelization. Fr. Al suggested that the evangelization
theme be focused on what it means for members to be active in the parish:
knowing the story, personal prayer life, regular attendance at liturgy,
stewardship of time, talent and income, and social involvement. Each committee would define goals related to
the evangelization theme.
