· Lee Falkavage was welcomed to the Pastoral Council. Lee replaces Mark Molski who recently resigned. We thank Mark for his dedicated service to the Council.
· “Reclaim the Fire” is a book on parish evangelization by Fr. Marty Pable of St. Anthony’s and was the topic of spiritual development led by Bob Rogers. Specific topics addressed were what does it mean to evangelize and how can we, individually and as a community, be evangelists. Reference was made to the Gospel of St. Luke, 24:13-32. All Council members received a copy. Discussion will continue at next meeting.
· Dave Fletcher reported on progress of the Ministry Fair. Renewal forms and brochures were approved with no changes. Council stressed the importance of having good representation of ministries sponsored by parish committees at the Ministry Fair.
· Bill Boylan reported on the Faith Alive Program, which is a diocesan sponsored program of small faith sharing groups that are distinguished by their prayer and action. Bill cannot coordinate this program and we need to find someone to fill that role. Mary Ann Powell will assist with coordination efforts.
· The Pastoral Council is considering changing its meeting time, which is the last Tuesday of the month, to a time earlier in the month. This will allow the Pastoral and Finance Councils to better coordinate their activities.
· Pastoral Council will participate in the Ministry Fair. Gene LaRose, Bob Rogers, and Mary Ann Powell volunteered to plan the Council’s contribution
· Pastoral Council adopted the theme of “Evangelization” as the focal point of Parish activity for the coming year and asked Parish committees to develop goals consistent with this theme.
· The Council offered suggestions about future content of the Parish Newsletter. They included articles on stewardship and the meaning of active membership, activities of parish committees, pictorial history of the exterior and interior of the church, history of Sisters associated with St. Stans, and a vocations page highlighting parishioners who have entered the religious life.
