Council viewed part 1 of a video called “A Conversation with Thomas Moore” as part of spiritual development activity.
Mary Ann Powell shared a
follow up of last month’s topic on St. Stanislaus Kostka and the history of our
parish.

Family
Life Committee will meet Feb. 19th to plan for Easter Vigil
·
Justice
and Peace Committee reports that monthly food collections are going well and
that cash donated will go to parish fund for distribution of food cards from
the rectory.
·
Sacred
Worship committee reports interest in having Mass counts from last year to
compare to this year, holding a Minister Fair to review duties of liturgical
ministers, procedures for sanitizing hands prior to distributing Communion, the
use of a new Gospel Acclamation by cantors, and that polka music will not be used
at Mass the day of Winter Carnival because we are in the Lenten season.

Finance
Council Report:
Ø Council will not be meeting
this month, but will meet again in March.
Ø As of last meeting, weekly
giving was down $19,000, a 5% decrease.
Ø Diocesan Appeal Update:
Total pledge amount for St. Stanislaus is $68,000. Total received thus far is
$61,000, putting us $9,000 under our target amount. There has been 32%
participation from the parish at this point.
Ø We Belong To Christ Update:
pledges received as of council’s December meeting were $125,600.
Ø This summer asbestos will be
removed from the 2nd floor of the school building. Bids are
currently being obtained related to packing up and moving of items and
furniture before and after this work is done. SPACS has stated that they will
cover half of the entire cost of this project.
Ø 4K Program appears to be
going well, hard to assess any issues at this point in time.

A
Catholic Journey held January 27, 2008 at St. Maximilian Kolbe was a success
and featured Smokey Express and Fr. Martin Pable. Fr. Dan Farley is planning for this to be an annual event.

Al continues to improve after surgery
Ø Dave will present information
on his recent Mission trip – Feb. 21st, 7:00pm Kostka Hall
Ø Upcoming Parish Programs:
Lenten Mission will be held March 3,4,5 at Pacelli High School in collaboration
with St. Stephens, St. Joe’s, St. Bart’s and Newman as in the past. Stations of
the Cross will be held on Tuesdays following 8:30 am mass and Fridays at 7:00
pm. There will be no individual confessions heard during the season of Lent as
Fr. Stanchik is focusing on the theme of conversion and encouraging all
parishioners to attend the communal penance services held at the parish. These
services will take place on February 27th for Faith Formation
students and families and March 10th for all parish members.

Ad
Hoc Committee formed to consider parish program offerings on Weekends based on
suggestions compiled by Council. Dave
Fletcher is chair of this ad hoc committee.
·
The
“Faith Alive” bible study program is meeting on Monday’s, coordinated by Mary
Ann Powell.
·
Catholics
Coming Home program continues with Deanery sponsorship this year. Council will consider proposal to base
future program from St. Stans.
·
Parking
congestion and the need to keep emergency lanes open was discussed. Dave Fletcher is to discuss this with Greg
Hansel.
·
Next
meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 11 from 7-9pm at the Rectory.
